Moore Recovery Project Wins Planning Award

Norman, OK--On the evening of September 26th Elizabeth Jones, Community Development Director for the City of Moore, accepted the 2016 Outstanding Public Project award for the Infrastructure Recovery and Implementation Plan (IRIP) at Quartz Mountain Resort in Lone Wolf, Oklahoma. Cardinal Engineering was the lead consultant on the team charged with planning infrastructure recovery efforts following the devastating May 2013 tornado in Moore, Oklahoma. Team members included City of Moore Staff, TDA Consulting, TAP Architecture, Lemke Land Surveying and Moore residents. The IRIP will be used by City Staff over the next five years to guide capital improvements to water, wastewater, stormwater, roadway, sidewalk, bikeway, trail and open space infrastructure systems.

Jurors from Oklahoma, Arkansas and Texas reviewed all of the award nominations, ultimately selecting the IRIP for the 2016 Oklahoma American Planning Association Outstanding Public Project.
