Employee Safety and Environmental Training |

Well-trained employees are a company's best defense against environmental and safety problems. OSHA and EPA have concluded companies with strong employee training and operational plans related to safety and environmental issues tend to have fewer accidents and less impact on the surrounding environment. Thus, almost every major OSHA and environmental regulation requires some degree of employee training. This training can become cumbersome and costly to perform in-house. A plant manager for one of our clients estimated that in the previous year he and his operations manager spent over 2,500 man-hours on employee training, record keeping, and updates. Cardinal's work in this area is primarily geared towards meeting the following goals:
Cardinal provides comprehensive testing of employees to insure training success and tracks training of each employee to schedule refreshers and updates as prescribed in regulations. As part of its training services, Cardinal maintains clear, concise, and complete records of each employees training on file at the plant in the eventuality of an OSHA or environmental agency inspection. Cardinal hopes companies never need the training but does train plant managers and facility owners to manage public relations and press during an emergency response or after an accident. Through a partnership with Cardinal, both employees and owners benefit. The employees experience top notch training from environmental and safety professionals who can answer their questions completely and accurately. The company enjoys safer, more aware employees without dedicating resources to developing, designing, and implementing training programs in-house. Cardinal economically provides the security of a training program which meets federal and state requirements and addresses specific, unique issues at each plant or job site. Challenge: One of our clients needed to conduct Emergency Response Drills at its facility. The company asked for Cardinals help. Solution:
Cardinal designed, executed, and assessed performance for three different
scenarios and then provided follow-up training and record keeping
as required. The cost to the company was significantly less than an in-house
training program.
