Challenge: A Major Oklahoma City industrial client paid the City of Oklahoma City for wastewater discharge equal to the quantity of potable water purchased from the City. However, up to 30% of the purchased water was evaporating in the client's cooling water towers and therefore not becoming wastewater.
Solution: A Cardinal chemical engineer, designed, specified and installed an ultrasonic wastewater metering system approved by the City which reduced discharge cost by 30%, a $20,000 annual savings to the client. This system insured the client only paid for wastewater which was actually discharged.
