Cardinal Selected as Beacon Award Finalist

Published: Friday (Jun. 3, 2011)

Cardinal has been selected by the Journal Record as a 2011 Beacon Award Finalist in the Charitable Influence category. The Cardinal Social Responsibility program (CSR) was started in 2007 in an effort to match Cardinal’s corporate culture with its core values of quality and ethics. Cardinal believes in making the community better not just by the job we do, but by the organizations we support and the time we spend actively involved in the community. Through CSR employees may request that Cardinal donate money to a non-profit organization of their choosing with one stipulation - that the employee must be directly and actively involved with the organization for which they are requesting funds. Employees are empowered to choose organizations which they are interested in volunteering for, not those which management chooses. This results in a wide range and diversity of social contributions not seen in other company sponsored programs. Cardinal was previously awarded a Beacon Award in 2008.

Cardinal, and the twenty-three other finalists will be honored at the fourth annual Beacon Awards event on July 12. More information about the event and the Beacon Awards can be found on the Journal Record’s website
